Germany & East Prussia (Ostpreussen) German Genealogy success & kudo!

nancy & steve reynolds (client)

nancy & steve hired you as a genealogy in 2013

Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, Good Value

“I found Karl on the Germany/Prussia Facebook page where I had posted many questions about my grandparents whom were from Germany and East Prussia. The information he provided was very detailed. There is still a lot of missing information that I need to find so my mom and I decided to hire Karl to do some more research for us We gave him a call. At the time I did not have an account on Ancestry so like magic Karl had me on Ancestry and he was busy looking for information to add to my tree. Karl also attached several images as documents to several individuals on my tree. He further had me refresh my page so I could see what he had done. It was amazing how much documentation he had added to my tree at no charge to us. He is planning to find my grandmothers birth record and also try to find some information on my grandfather . I have been looking for information about my grandparents for over a year and have had no luck. Karl said that I will give you twice the time you pay for. If you hit a bump in your ancestry road give Karl Sala a call.” April 1, 2013

The German Genealogists transcribe a name that nobody else could! Hjrominius!

Karl-Michael Sala shared a photo.  Help - can you read the name on this document? The last name is Seibels - that I know - but, what is the first name? It's German and a name I have never seen before. The father of my great great uncle.

Au contraire! Outside the box, please! Not Hyronimus, nor any of the usual & well-known versions of that given name! It is instead, Hjrominius (or, alternately, Hjrominias). To firm up just which of these 2 it would be, I would normally compare other letters a & u on the page. Need some support for this 1 & only hypothesis out of all your listings in this thread? “…Franciscus Hyrominius De Bie, born in 1843…” The final “m” [sic] is too scattered to be an m. And, no, the i needs not be dotted, for he did not dot the i in Seibels. While there might supposed to have been a letter n in the middle, there is one extra minim. Even more challenging it is when a snippet of only one line is given. In German handwriting, the y & j were often interchangeable. However, if it were my team of transcriptionists, the only letter m would be in the middle{:>)http://www.germangenealogist.com/about-us-lynell-karl-michael-sala/ Now you see why I am paid the big blessings & occasionally the big bucks{:>) While it might not be a big deal in this case, sometimes in research, if you miss ONE letter, you could be totally off & experience much effort, frustration, time & money. <sigh> I have been doing this fun work since 1979 & have cracked cases where no other genealogist could. Therefore, in this case, your honoress, & people of the jury, I rest my case{:>)

The kloning of Karl-Michael Sala?

“Karl-Michael has been a great help in my research for my ancestral family in Pomerania. Not only did he help me decipher Tishhage to Dischenhagen, but I now know more about German script, th[a]n when I first started. He has shown me the differences in the way [German pastors & records-keepers] would write certain letters. [Karl] would ask me to compare letters to other words in the text. An example would be the way the letter M was written. What I thought was a W, [Karl] would have me look for other words that had Ws in the word. I was able to tell the village was Schmintz and not Schwintz. I am now able to search through documents and church records on my own. Every once in awhile, I will find myself stumped, and Karl will jump right in and help me out. I have only great praise for him and I think he would be a wonderful asset to any genealogy group.”
