Update on German Genealogy Research for clients

Great. I coached my client (a Deutsche Bank director) how to view the stunning myriad of data, documents & images on Ancestry.com that Lynell & I skillfully scrounged up for him. He was absolutely tickled & expressed his appreciation by putting his money where his mouth is. I’m now in SLC to continue his USA, immigration & German Genealogy research in USA & German microfilms. His ancestors want to be found. We will not let him or them down. www.germangenealogist.com

Lynell rocks our clients’ German Genealogy world!

Lynell Sala, our research director extraordinaire, singlehandedly–again–found the client’s matriarchal ancestor in the NY Passenger List. It gave the name of her German place of origin–THE crucial piece of data with which to continue German Genealogy research! Lynell also found the target patriarchal ancestor’s family in the very 1st census after their USA arrival! All vital data for my whirlwind research this week in SLC{;>)

German (or Italian, et al.) Family History… So much more than just names and dates.

Enjoy the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing “Shenandoah” while listening to this very touching story that is, pretty much, with minor variations, the story of the United States of America! Thank you to the creator of this video. It matters not whether it is Italian or German Genealogy, our ancestral family members could well be our guardian angels. No, this is not ancestor worship, but ancestor love & respect.

Since 1979: German Genealogy & German Genealogist Accomplishments

Accomplishments or “Who Do You Think You Are?”

I am:

#1: Honored to have been the one to tell both of my grandmothers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean precisely who their grandparents were. This, by showing them evidentiary proof in USA Census records & in German scripted documents! Yes, I found MANY more.

#2: Since 1979: Pleased to have found thousands of online & offline data, documents & images for thousands of ancestral family members for hundreds of clients! Traveled 10 times behind the former Iron Curtain (when it was neither fun, nor easy)

#3: This includes having found the pre-Emancipation ancestor—Itasca “Tasker” Russ–for my fellow high school days soul music band member, Tim Russ (aka Lt. Cmdr. Tuvok, the black Vulcan on Star Trek Voyager)! He & his brother wrote me a nice endorsement on Linkedin.

#4 After having been selected as THE very 1st person to be hand-picked for the Ancestry.com Paid Expert Ancestry Research Line,

#5 I became THE primary German Genealogy Research Consultant for Ancestry.de. After both those were abandoned,

#6 I already was–but officially became–became The German Genealogist, i.e. http://www.GermanGenealogist.com

#7 Since July 2008, I have 50+ (yes, fifty!) endearing endorsements (no, not connections, but rather Commendations on Linkedin.com)!

#8 2010: Cultivated our biggest client retainer amount–EVER ($13,500)!

#9 2011: Earned the confidence, trust & research business of the Director, Deutsche Bank on the East Coast!

#10 Served a 2-yr honorable mission for the Savior; Learned to read, speak & write German

#11 Graduated from BYU in 3 1/2 years (because I CLEP’d, i.e. tested out of numerous German classes; but learned how to WRITE the old German handwriting!

#12 Served as a Vietnam-era Veteran & USAFR Intelligence Officer;

#13 Sired & served as a father & grandfather, as Heavenly Father’s co-creator is very humbling

East Coast USA Deutsche Bank Executive’s (Our Client’s) German immigrant target ancestor is a turn-of-the-century 1903 car-brake patent holder! Interesting & Impressive!

East Coast USA Deutsche Bank Executive’s (Our Client’s) German immigrant target ancestor is a turn-of-the-century 1903 car-brake patent holder! Interesting & Impressive!  We’ve also found his target German immigrant ancestor & family members on the 1930, 1920 & 1910 Censuses & New York Passenger List!  No, of course, the surname was NEVER spelled or transcribed correctly.

These three censuses gave us the following years of immigration, respectively; 1897; 1889; 1895.  Professionally, you normally would start with the earliest census’s evidence, but we’ll use the range of 1889 through 1897.  More on that in a future post.
Then we found his immigrant target ancestor’s 1903 patent for a car-brake. Cool. 5 pages of details from the USA Patent & Trademark office,

but found it NOT on their website, but rather on Ancestry.com, our international treasure.
www.GermanGenealogist.com/?page_id=2 grants anyone a generous 50% discount on initial retainer; 10% residual reward for referrals.
