Free German Genealogy? Sure! Get all you can. When it runs out, to save effort, money & time, hire GermanGenealogist.com!

The laborer in your ancestral vineyard is worthy of his hire!

These are the three Germanic provinces in which we have set major new milestones in terms of quantity & quality research.  With the best technology ever,  in less time & more countries than ever, more images (1,000+) have been digitized than ever before by Karl-Michael Sala of German Genealogist.com!

[In order to get a sufficient image size, it appears the image is going to be a bit squeezed to the north & south.  But, it is such a good one that shows all the bordering provinces to Bayern or Bavaria.  It lacks only that the large area to the right is Bayern or Bavaria!]

I just received on Facebook an unnerving note from a former client:

“…Most notably Bavaria areas.  This is a free country and I don’t think you should pay to find your family.  Sorry.”

    • You reply that you don’t think you should pay to find your family?  I also don’t think you or I should have to pay!  My paying clients get a lot of pro bono research.  Why?  Because I believe these people WANT to be found.
    • As a fellow TBI survivor, you should know that this means a lot to me and your ancestors!  But you are neither paying NOR finding them.
    • I’d love somebody to find my Sala immigrant ancestor!  Will you do it?  Rent, mortgages, cars are not free.  Whenever I walk out of the grocery store with items, they actually want me to pay for them.  Go figure.
    • Sure, find all you can for free.  When that runs out, contact the research couple who since 1979 has found thousands!
    • The laborer in your ancestral vineyard is worthy of his hire… Or do you get free grapes?{;>)
    • Now then, PayPal mfhm1979@hotmail.com some funds & we’ll continue to work on your tree.  As I recall, there, we have already done more than that for which you have paid. Hmm, that could be taken wrong: You got your money’s worth & then some.

  • There.  I feel a whole lot better.  Don’t you?

Want a professional detailed, color illustration of a European castle from your ancestral region in Germany, Europe or UK?

    Karl-Michael Sala

This rendition is not it, but our client, Lady Kimberley of www.CastleColors.com did a tremendous color illustration that added the autumn colors of orange & yellow around the castle that many of my ancestral & living family members adored & admired: The Löwenburg Castle near the Herkules Monument & Cascades in Kassel, Germany!  Mine is not yet in digital format, but here is a sample of one England castle from Lady Kimberley’s work.

SEE NEW FEATURED ARTISTS — Painting and drawing gallery for CastlePaintings.co.uk and CastleColors.com — See these beautiful original paintings and limited edition prints that capture the splendor and history of European castles. Spectacular castles and quaint villages. We can find your European …
Karl-Michael Sala Caveat: While we love the castles & churches, GermanGenealogist.com does not support the illustration of surname crests, because they are usually NOT ancestral.  (Now, which Smith crest was it?)
Even my Sala surname even has a few “crests,” but our Sala family knows nothing about it.  Tell me: How could you or I prove that it is mine/ours? Reply: You cannot.

GermanGenealogist.com’s Karl-Michael Sala, German Genealogy expert since 1979, reflects back on his harrowing experience at the Berlin Wall.

    Karl-Michael Sala

Before the fall of the wall, for many people who either lacked the German Genealogy research skills, or were too fearful to do it themselves–to specific tiny little cow villages–I would travel behind the rusty Iron Curtain.  This, to research & find thousands of data, documents & images for my clients’ ancestral family members.

It was my German Genealogy research professor, Larry O. Jensen, who made me write entire long letters using the old German handwriting.  Wish to learn it?  I highly recommend you do the same.

Larry O Jensen, Accredited Genealogist, is Manager of the International reference Unit at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has over 35 years of experience in German genealogical research and has lectured extensively on German family research throughout the United States and Canada. He is the author of Maps of the German
Empire of 1871, the two volume set A Genealogical Handbook of German Research, and numerous articles in the German Genealogical Digest. Mr Jensen is recognized as one of the country’s foremost authorities in German genealogy.

My Bachelor’s Thesis for my International Relations degree @ Brigham Young University in 1981 was about the Re-unification of Germany!

I did more to serve Germany & my country as a civilian than I ever could as a USAFR Intelligence Officer.  The only intelligence I gathered was “Ancestral Intelligence.” {;>)

They were unaccustomed to people having such detailed maps (1:25,000) of the tiniest locations in East Germany.  Probably due to this, I was granted (ha) a strip-search at Checkpoint Charlie, i.e. the East German side of it.

Read all the specific international ad hoc genealogy articles, books, histories, pamphlets & web-sites, etc.

CyndisListed, Dear Myrtled & received your Random Act of Genealogical Kindness, et al.

Posted to all the online bulletin boards, forums & blogs.

Macheted weeds from your ancestors’ graves near the bogs.

Picked the brains of all the experts online & offline, like a pesk.

    Traveled to Salt Lake City & mobbed the international reference desk;

Even got the Wizard of Abaghodia to translate a document for you—my goodness, it was for free!

Traveled to your ancestor’s USA first-known place that is listed on the family tree!

    Interviewed your 1st, 2nd & even your 3rd cousin,

But, alas, still nothin’ seems to be a-buzzin’.

Your German or mid-European Genealogy dilemma still stands.

You’ve thrown in the towel & are now wringing your hands.
