A European colleague’s video about German Genealogy research in-country

Inasmuch as I don’t have one yet, please click here Another German Genealogist in Europe to view a video about a colleague pursuing German Genealogy research & German family history research in-country. It is subscripted in English, so enjoy the mild-by-comparison Bavarian, i.e. Bayerischen accent. It appears Reinhard Hofer’s website shown on the video is going to help me crack the Schmidbauer case for my client, Jack Thomas. Jack is the guy who said: “Karl, help me find my [German] ancestors–before I become one!”

ANOTHER FAMILY HISTORY MYSTERY SOLVED! “Brisen” given as a birthplace in the 1870 Census is not a town–it is one Germanic pronunciation of Preussen (Prussia)!

OH GOSH, WE LOVE THIS GERMAN GENEALOGY RESEARCH FOR CLIENTS! Permission is granted to re-post these great findings that will save some people efforts, frustration, time & money (but give us credit as shown below): We have solved the German Genealogy & family history mystery of “Brisen” being listed as a place of birth.

Our clients admit that we have saved them THOUSANDS of $ ! HOW? By our having prevented them from digging at the wrong roots & barking up the wrong trees! This blog is another case in point. There are several Bulletin Boards, Discussion Groups & Forums that have posted about this Brisen anomaly. We are pleased to share our analysis & findings.

BRISEN: Wuerttemberg (the correct spelling without the umlaut) is also often misspelled in USA records. Yes, the 1870 Census birthplace entry of Brisen is odd. Indeed, there is no such town as “Brisen” per se in the entire pre-WW1 German empire.

BRIESEN: Out of all 20+ BriEsen entries in the pre-WW1

Meyers Orts- und Verkehrslexikon des Deutschen Reichs

, NONE of them was a part of Prussia–the indication of the place of birth in the client’s 1880 Census entry.

PRUSSIA auf deutsch, i.e. in German, is Preussen. In the spoken German, the B & the P are pronounced quite similarly; indeed somewhere between a B & a P. On my mission for the Savior in Essen, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, our ward mission leader’s name was Brother Beck, i.e. pronounced almost, in German, like Bpruder Bpeck.

The “eu” is normally pronounced like the English “oi,” but in some dialects it is pronounced like a long “i.” Thus, you have Brisen, pronounced like Brysen = Prysen = PREUSSEN = PRUSSIA! This fully explains why you can find so many people who were born in Brisen!

Brisen, per se, as a TOWN of origin will now be officially dismissed as a viable option. Rheinland, indeed, was a part of Preussen.

OFFER: To earn more towards your USA, immigration or German Genealogy research case, would you please copy & paste my Brisen analysis & findings to any & all appropriate bulletin boards, forums, emails?

REWARD: For your benefit & theirs, would you please give credit to the following keyword phrase: “Karl-Michael Sala = GermanGenealogist.com = mfhm1979@hotmail.com = 1-888-456-7252” ? Tell them, I offer them a 50% discount (2 for 1; twice as much) on their initial retainer, just like you are getting{;>) We always ask where clients got our name & reward the guilty party{;>) If we ascertain it was you, then–whether you like it or not–you get a 10% residual credit for research to your account. NObody, but us, is offering this.

So, please, spout off about this important finding that will benefit many. Copy & paste, etc. Cc: Bcc: The reward we GLADLY do, for then, you’ll do it again & again! Hey, even tho’ our website is organically or naturally SEO’d, doing genealogy for a living is quite a challenge. So, please earn some research or $ & HELP me keep my promises & reach my goal to serve thousands before I leave this good ol’ globe a 2nd time.

22 June 2010: Another German Genealogy case (NOLL) cracked for a long-time researcher. How? The USA Census UNUSUALLY gave the name of the town of origin in Germany! Another way we SAVE our clients THOUSANDS of $, efforts, frustration & time!

We got through ANOTHER BrickWall !

The client claims to have done all the USA research! Not quite. He asked for us to help in finding just where his ancestors originated in Germany.

It continues to prove that PRIOR TO CROSSING THE OCEAN, you usually MUST FIRM UP THE FOUNDATION!

Now that the client has further pledged & revealed that he already had the data we found, we’ll reveal the name of the place: Brisen, [Germany]! OK, now the client gives me the supporting evidence that the target ancestor’s brother was from Ahrweiler, Rhineland. So, let’s hope we find one of the twenty places named Brisen, et var. near Ahrweiler! German Genealogy research service will now continue! Paul Zech, a poet & novelist, shown on page 887 of this book was born in “Briesen, Rhineland.” Hmm, to find this Briesen, et var., we’re going to have to try some spelling variations.

So, tell us: What would this be worth to you?

I know: As German Genealogy specialists, we gamble with whether people will pay or not, but if they contact ME/US through MY/OUR GermanGenealogist.com website, I assume they are good for it.

“German Genealogy” keyword has GermanGenealogist.com sometimes as #1 in Google’s Search Engine!

Finally! To our clients, we are Superman! We’ve been called Experts, Genies, Heroes, Renaissance Man, the Michael Jordan of German Genealogy, et al.

As a very small business, a small partnership, a Mom & Pop research entity, indeed, as underdogs, we are proud to have Google-edged out & handily victored over the big genealogy boys & girls, firms, etc. We don’t have the working capital that these guys have.

The Underdog can occasionally be on top! We deserve it, for we have actually helped HUNDREDS to find their ancestral family members! We’ve specifically helped clients, patrons & our own family members to find what they’ve been seeking for up to 3 decades!

What would finding data & images on your ancestor mean to you? What would that be worth to you? Make your pledge TODAY. Email karlmsala@msn.com or mfhm1979@hotmail.com

Got ancestry, genealogy & family history in East Prussia (Ostpreussen), the province? With gratitude to MyHeritage.com, enjoy a Ken Burns-style slideshow of some crucial documents found for Schwellnus (Szwelnus) ancestry in Luttkomanscheit, a village within the Evangelical parish of Schakuhnen!

If you copy or re-post these images, please be advised that both are a bit scrunched to the middle. This was so that I could get them large enough to be able to read the names of cities & provinces. Also, please give credit to GermanGenealogist.com–but NOT for spelling errors on the German Empire map: Schaumburg-Lippe & Strehlitz are the more-correct spellings.
Before you click on the slideshow link below–just above the color map of Ostpreussen–please view all maps. Heydekrug is the district for Luttkomanscheit a/k/a Lut(t)ken, a village within the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Schakuhnen! Caveat: Do not confuse this Luttken with the other Luttken, also in Ostpreussen! Here is the slideshow link:

Meseritz, Posen, Preussen (Prussia): Just ONE of the locations we successfully researched, is now Miedzyrzecz, Poznan, Poland! Link provided for modern-day photographs!

This is NOT Meseritz, Pommern (Pomerania), Preussen (Prussia)! It is the Meseritz in Posen (Poznan in Polish), Preussen!

Original found at: http://www.lubuskie.co.uk/meseritz.htm
Re-posted & appropriately renamed at: http://www.germangenealogist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Meseritz-Posen-Marktplatz-Rathaus-Ev-Kirche.jpg

Instead, this is just one of our client’s target ancestral parishes of origin: the Meseritz in the former Prussian province, Posen. It is not far from the former East Prussian (Ostpreussen) border! Click on the link here for even more stunning, modern, color Miedzyrzecz pictures
