Back into the late 1600s for the ENGELHARDT “German” lineage in what today is known as Baden-Wuerttemberg

For our Deutsche Bank director client, research hypothetically, we are now back into the late 1600s for the ENGELHARDT lineage in what today is known as Baden-Wuerttemberg. Three different villages; a possible fourth yet to come. We love the ride. On the map, you can see where Baden, Wuerttemberg & Hohenzollern once were.

At BYU, I “clepped” (CLEP) numerous college-level German language courses.

Karl-Michael Sala wrote:
After my 1976-77 2-yr mission to Germany for the Savior & His people, at Brigham Young University, I “clepped” or tested out of numerous German language courses. No grade; just a pass & pay for the credits. That, along with using the GI Bill I had earned as an honorably discharged Vietnam Era Veteran with the United States Air Force, & having attended school over the summers enabled me to graduate within 3 & 1/2 years (Jan 1978- Aug 1981).
College Level Examination Program – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a group of standardized tests that assess college-level knowledge in several subject areas. Many colleges grant credit to students who meet their minimum qualifying score…
Well, I went on to take not German classes, but rather bolster my knowledge of German Genealogy research. This included paid field trips to Germany (both East & West at the time), Czechoslovakia & the National Archives in Washington DC! Stunningly valuable experience that enabled me to become a top German Genealogist for hundreds of clients since 1979.

Who Do I Think I Am? Much more than just German Genealogy!

Karl-Michael Sala, owner of GermanGenealogist.com, has helped Angela, Michael & Tim Russ (aka Lt. Cmdr Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager), find their unknown pre-Emancipation ancestor, Itasca “Tasker” Russ! Both Tim & his brother said nice things about us on Linkedin.com. In 1972, Karl Sala played in a soul music band w/ the 2 brothers. If you’re able & willing to pay for USA, immigration or Euro-German research, get a 50% discount on your initial online research retainer by contacting karlmsala@msn.com 602-865-9695.

Years ago, this was my own type of WDYTYA experience (Friday evenings, NBC) having researched the ancestry for Tim Russ, aka Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager. Angela, Michael & Tim’s father, a retired USAF Lt. Col., also got to enjoy our research back to his pre-Emancipation ancestor, Itasca “Tasker” Russ. http://www.germangenealogist.com/?page_id=2

German Genealogy in the Family History Library! There’s a Family History Center near you!

After much ado about much to do, the ENGELHARD case has been cracked for a director of Deutsche Bank USA! Back 2 generations, after much work in Derdingen, Baden, we are now going to research Zaisenweiher, Wuerttemberg{;>) Many thanks to the Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My tithing helps to pay for this public service location. But, be it known that it goes to show that you must firm up the foundation & the framing–prior to attaching the roof. You see, Lynell, again, found this matriarch in the NY Passenger List, which gave a place of origin as “Derdingen.” The family thought she originated in a nearby village called Sulzfeld. Been to those records; not there, but the matriarchal ancestor was found in, voila’, Oberderdingen. Back two generations, we shall now continue the research in a nearby village called Zaisenweiher. OFFER: If you can pronounce both of those, you get one free search from me. Call me 602-865-9695 & say ’em loud, live or on voice mail.{;>)
