Since 2004: Native Germans interest in “Ahnenforschung” as per Google Insight for Search

Don’t let the graphs below fool you about the ongoing interest of Germans in German Genealogy! Most of my clients are not Germans, but here is their chart, equivalent to the previous one. If you click on the link, it should even break it down by province! If it does not, then just re-run the keyword “Ahnenforschung.” Here it is:

Regional interest Subregion City
1. Niedersachsen 100
2. Nordrhein-Westfalen 92
3. Berlin 88
4. Baden-Württemberg 84
5. Bayern 83
6. Hessen 50

This does NOT truly mean the interest is decreasing as much as is shown. But rather, those most interested in Ahnenforschung or German Genealogy have already made their initial inquiries. Those initial inquirers are no longer needing to use a Search Engine to get where they need to go for “Ahnenforschung”! So this is really reflecting the NEW users using the Google Search Engine for this term.

“German Genealogy records” search queries as per Google Insight for Research

Put in your own request for whatever you’d like at this link. If you click on my link here, it won’t show all that I saw, so you’d have to enter “German Genealogy” again. A goodly number seek German GeneOlogy records, too. Right. And, I once had a bialogy class. {;>)

A European colleague’s video about German Genealogy research in-country

Inasmuch as I don’t have one yet, please click here Another German Genealogist in Europe to view a video about a colleague pursuing German Genealogy research & German family history research in-country. It is subscripted in English, so enjoy the mild-by-comparison Bavarian, i.e. Bayerischen accent. It appears Reinhard Hofer’s website shown on the video is going to help me crack the Schmidbauer case for my client, Jack Thomas. Jack is the guy who said: “Karl, help me find my [German] ancestors–before I become one!”

ANOTHER FAMILY HISTORY MYSTERY SOLVED! “Brisen” given as a birthplace in the 1870 Census is not a town–it is one Germanic pronunciation of Preussen (Prussia)!

OH GOSH, WE LOVE THIS GERMAN GENEALOGY RESEARCH FOR CLIENTS! Permission is granted to re-post these great findings that will save some people efforts, frustration, time & money (but give us credit as shown below): We have solved the German Genealogy & family history mystery of “Brisen” being listed as a place of birth.

Our clients admit that we have saved them THOUSANDS of $ ! HOW? By our having prevented them from digging at the wrong roots & barking up the wrong trees! This blog is another case in point. There are several Bulletin Boards, Discussion Groups & Forums that have posted about this Brisen anomaly. We are pleased to share our analysis & findings.

BRISEN: Wuerttemberg (the correct spelling without the umlaut) is also often misspelled in USA records. Yes, the 1870 Census birthplace entry of Brisen is odd. Indeed, there is no such town as “Brisen” per se in the entire pre-WW1 German empire.

BRIESEN: Out of all 20+ BriEsen entries in the pre-WW1

Meyers Orts- und Verkehrslexikon des Deutschen Reichs

, NONE of them was a part of Prussia–the indication of the place of birth in the client’s 1880 Census entry.

PRUSSIA auf deutsch, i.e. in German, is Preussen. In the spoken German, the B & the P are pronounced quite similarly; indeed somewhere between a B & a P. On my mission for the Savior in Essen, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, our ward mission leader’s name was Brother Beck, i.e. pronounced almost, in German, like Bpruder Bpeck.

The “eu” is normally pronounced like the English “oi,” but in some dialects it is pronounced like a long “i.” Thus, you have Brisen, pronounced like Brysen = Prysen = PREUSSEN = PRUSSIA! This fully explains why you can find so many people who were born in Brisen!

Brisen, per se, as a TOWN of origin will now be officially dismissed as a viable option. Rheinland, indeed, was a part of Preussen.

OFFER: To earn more towards your USA, immigration or German Genealogy research case, would you please copy & paste my Brisen analysis & findings to any & all appropriate bulletin boards, forums, emails?

REWARD: For your benefit & theirs, would you please give credit to the following keyword phrase: “Karl-Michael Sala = GermanGenealogist.com = mfhm1979@hotmail.com = 1-888-456-7252” ? Tell them, I offer them a 50% discount (2 for 1; twice as much) on their initial retainer, just like you are getting{;>) We always ask where clients got our name & reward the guilty party{;>) If we ascertain it was you, then–whether you like it or not–you get a 10% residual credit for research to your account. NObody, but us, is offering this.

So, please, spout off about this important finding that will benefit many. Copy & paste, etc. Cc: Bcc: The reward we GLADLY do, for then, you’ll do it again & again! Hey, even tho’ our website is organically or naturally SEO’d, doing genealogy for a living is quite a challenge. So, please earn some research or $ & HELP me keep my promises & reach my goal to serve thousands before I leave this good ol’ globe a 2nd time.
