GermanGenealogist.com (GGcom) & MFHM have discovered Several new ancestral family members: Two totally distinct Mueller lineages & one Schwellnus (Szwelnus) line. These historical events images were researched, found, digitally burned, copied & saved!

Preserving Ancestry Research

PLEASE SPREAD THE GREAT NEWS TO ALL! NEW ANCESTORS RESEARCHED, FOUND, DOCUMENTED, DIGITALLY PRESERVED & NOW SHARED!

The Civil Registration of the 23 SEPTEMBER 1877 BIRTH has been FOUND FOR “MARIE EMMI AGNES MUELLER” in Meseritz, Posen, Preussen (Prussia)!

Happy Birthday, Otto! As I might have mentioned before, we believe your ancestors want you/us to find them! Whether you believe this or not, matters not. For, if it helps us to do quicker & smarter research for you, then so be it.

On your birthday–even lacking the presence of a decent index–going page-by-page, we indeed found the civil registration birth record of “Marie Emmi Agnes Mueller” except with an umlaut). I’d bet she went by “Emmi.” She was born in the Evangelical religion on 23 September 1877 in Meseritz, Posen, Preussen (Prussia).

Her father was the Pastor Otto Carl Julius Mueller. (with umlaut)

Her mother was Hermine Emilie Crueger. (with umlaut)

It does not appear the system grants us privileges to upload images or make any changes here. After this is granted to us, if possible, we shall post digital images here. Please do whatever it takes to grant us permission to perform this honor for you.

This finding has indeed saved us & you thousands of dollars! We should not need to travel to the two different Meseritz places in today’s Poland! If we do, it would only be to photograph or do any follow up research in any records that might be lacking on microfilm in Salt Lake City, Utah!

We’ll now go on to find any siblings & go back in time!

Sincerely, your servants historical time travelers,

Lynell & Karl-Michael Sala = http://www.GermanGenealogist.com

Pro Bono Volunteer Work? Become someone’s Superman. Lynell & Karl-Michael Sala = GermanGenealogist.com contribute 10-20% free work for patrons each year!

Arizona Republic online graphic of a senior missionary couple in Mesa, Arizona Regional Family History Center.

Let’s take a lesson from the dedicated thousands of volunteers in thousands of Family History Centers across the globe.

Do 10% pro bono work. To this day, Lynell & I still do complimentary work here & there. Pick & choose carefully. Sometimes there will be absolutely NO benefit to the volunteer work. As my wife would say, “And that’s–OK.” But, doing the right thing is sometimes supernatural. We continue to ask for opportunities to serve.

I don’t have time to check, but while your software may be grand, is it re-inventing the wheel? Or, is it improving on the wheel or creating a non-roadborne method of motion? In other words, it must be somehow superior. I doubt you can compete with millions of $ worth of genealogy software. But as they say so well in German: “Ich lass mich gerne ueberraschen!” That is: It would be great if I were proven in error!

Someone's Hero

SUPERMAN? So, in the meantime, how about helping people actually use various forms of software–genealogy or otherwise? Become someone’s Superman. There is a senior market that only has enough knowledge to be dangerous. Offer to help them navigate the online & offline programs & even some of the research. If you get stuck on the research portion, consult with those who have even more experience, like Lynell & me.

Lynell & Karl-Michael Sala were THE very 1st two persons hand-picked for the short-lived, but highly successful Ancestry.com Paid Expert Ancestry Research Line. Why? Because they had the highest success ratio in having helped subscribers find what they had been seeking for DECADES!

PRO BONO? We offer you your first search totally for free, with zero obligation. Why? Then, we prove that we indeed know what we are doing. Now, do as I’m doing & offer something (limited, like my offer to you) to someone for free.

That’s how I got started: a friend wanted to pay me to find something for him. I thought: “Cool!” Now, because people pay me well, I’m happily addicted, connected, hooked, linked in, snookered….

Some want all my time for free. Ooh, that’s excess patronage & selfish thinking on their part. The internet has fostered the “free genealogy” notion. Last time I walked out of the grocery store with just 1 item, they actually wanted me to pay for the stuff. My gosh, it’s only one item! Go figure. But, alas, that’s a b(eef)log for another time…

(1981): FIRST JOB right out of Brigham Young University (BYU)

For online BYU Alumni Survey (1st 250 characters, i.e. 1st paragraph only)

“Being highly interested in my own ancestry, genealogy & family history, I avidly sought to work for a research firm in Salt Lake City. In 1981, Larry Piatt paid me $6/hour to be his research assistant for the Institute of Family Research. I Loved it!”

Thank you, Larry Piatt–wherever you are. On that income, Karl bought his first starter home!

In 1984, Karl-Michael Sala then went on to become an Accredited Genealogist (Germany). To qualify to even take the all-day, pro-active, written exam, one had to have 1,000 hours of experience.

Then, if you pass that, you get a subsequent verbal exam. Oh, gosh, Karl was fervently grilled by Roy Spjut, AG, test administrator for the Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“How do you KNOW that this Johann Schmidt is the right one? There are three of them born in the same time frame & there are NO other records to stipulate what year he was born or the names of his parents!”

The answer is that the genealogist simply cannot be sure. The genealogist must state to the client all the reasons for selecting a particular Johann Schmidt. However, in the absence of a record that states when the target ancestor was born, or precisely whom his parents at birth were, the professional genealogist can only clarify all the reasons for his hypothesis. He must caveat & clarify his supporting reasons. However, the exact one sometimes just simply CANNOT BE PROVEN!

Persistence–there’s nothing like it for German Genealogy research success!

What is the key solution?A picture is worth a thousand words! So a video must be worth a million words. Hmm, we’ll work on that!

I am a consistent, insistent, persistent, pertinacious, steadfast & tenacious http://www.GermanGenealogist.com , so I say:
“Besäße der Mensch mehr Beharrlichkeit, so wäre ihm nichts unmöglich” –Chinesesisches Sprichwort, aber so zitiert eines meinen Lehrers der Sprachmission der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der Letzen Tage, 1977. The lesson was on the use of subjunctives in regular verbs, including the woulds, coulds, & shoulds, etc.

Therefore, send me a referral & I’ll pay you a 10% Residual commission–regardless of who closes the deal. NObody but me is offering that generous compensation. Redeem it in research or $.

With this on-going persistent attitude, I have now accomplished more than I ever thought I could! Lynell & I have found THOUSANDS of data, documents & images on THOUSANDS of ancestral family members for HUNDREDS of clients, patrons & ourselves. Won’t you now join us in helping people to finally FIND what they’ve been seeking for decades? We wish to bring to pass the immortality & eternal life of man while turning the hearts of the children to their forefathers. See the last chapter of Malachi in the Old Testament.

Poland & Prussia genealogy research: Success breeds success, but Failure can perturb you into success. Let it.

a>href=”http://www.germangenealogist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Polish-Genealogy-Society-logo.jpg”>The red graphic is the icon of the Polish Genealogical Society. “Karl, you’re not afraid of failure–you’re terrified of success, dude!” My friend might be right! I’ve succeeded. I’ve failed. Both have motivated me. One to pick myself up from the dust & move on to bigger & better things. But I’ve all-too-often failed to count my many blessings & build on them.

GermanGenealogist.com has had a stunning first year. It has produced the largest retainer size–ever: $7,000 from a client in South Africa who has several German ancestry/ancestral roots that need some serious work. We shall be researching some of those microfilms from Salt Lake City, Utah at the Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some will be done at our local Mesa, Arizona Regional Family History Center.< We have cracked, solved & researched many places in Poland. Several Poland places' records no longer exist, but don't you believe them until you hire us to check it out for you!

ILLEGAL Immigration. What is it about ILLEGAL that people canNOT comprehend?

a>Mother of Karl-Michael Salaa>Posted on ABC15.com (Arizona) GermanGenealog – 5/22/2010 10:38 PM 2 Votes

My [German] ancestors & my [German] mother came to this country LEGALLY. Help me understand–what part of ILLEGAL immigration is it that people canNOT comprehend? Many people have been turned down for several jobs because they could not speak Spanish. Although in 1990 I had a bonus-award winning track record, I personally was not given an executive leadership position in 2000 with the US Census Bureau because I was not Hispanic in origin. They called it Affirmative Action.
Welfare? Rehab? In spite of my documented disability [at that time], I was turned down in California. [That reminds me of the European church records archival bureaucrat who said: “Herr Sala, it is my job to keep you researchers from getting at my records.” While initially furious, we must] forgive them, for they know not what they do… Share This Post

Lynell & Karl Sala! Help me find my ancestors–before I become one!

I sent an email to someone who appeared to be a proven genealogist (since 1979) Karl Sala, BA, Brigham Young University karlmsala@msn.com
What wonderful luck! I soon found that Karl and his highly able Research Director, Lynell, MAOM, University of Phoenix, not only understood my feelings, but were coming from the same point of view–the love of our ancestors. I am so happy to have found competent people to put me in touch with my family members who have passed on, some of whom only recently passed on. After having read Karl’s web page [now http://www.GermanGenealogist.com] I knew I had made the right choice.
Not only that: Karl emailed me ultra-enlarged graphics of census records showing both known & previously unknown new ancestors!
Via multiple emails, he has answered my many questions in an expeditious manner.
Taking full advantage of their love & expertise, I will be so happy to share the genealogy with my children and other family members. That has been my goal for many years.

With much Love,

CREATIVITY is, according to some, allegedly the #1 trait for leaders. Well, I’m up there with the best of them in creative ways of cracking & solving USA, immigration, emigration & Euro-German ancestry, genealogy & family history research cases for our clients!

EVIDENCE? I was THE very 1st person hand-picked for the short-lived, but highly successful Ancestry.com Research Line! Who was 2nd? My wife, Lynell Pierce Sala!

ENDORSEMENTS? Read what 45+ people on Linkedin had to say about our creative & stunning work! Several of these were mycolleagues & leaders at Ancestry.com

Ancestry, genealogy & family history research has enabled me to take a positive passion to assertive action for the good of my clients like Diane Gray, Tim Russ (a/k/a Lt. Tuvok, the black Vulcan, Star Trek Voyager).

I’ve taken the road less traveled for many people. I’ve translated some difficult old German handwritten documents for Diane & found Tim’s heretofore unknown pre-Emancipation ancestor!

Lynell & I, Karl-Michael Sala, have found THOUSANDS of data, documents & images for THOUSANDS of ancestral family members for HUNDREDS of international people. Next!

Creative? You betcha. We’ve been doing this great fun & service of ancestry, family history & genealogy research since 1979, but we’ve only just begun…

How (& why) I got into the German Genealogy research business

How (& why) I got into the German Genealogy research business:
In 1979, while a student at Brigham Young University, I started initially working on my own genealogy. Others became interested & asked me to help them. One handed me $20 for one search. One search now costs $29.95—a very reasonable figure, if you cannot find it on your own! Being mostly successful as an amateur, I thought, “Hey, I can do this, i.e. make a living at chasing My Family History Mysteries (one of the names of our research entities) is a lot of challenge & fun!”

2. Lynita Tate Transport Specialist Karl, so starting your own business changed your genealogical outlook or was your outlook changed before you started your business? How did you get into translating German documents? That’s interesting.
3. Karl-Michael SALA, Internat’l Genealogist since 1979!
Starting my own business indeed changed my genealogical outlook even further, but my outlook had already changed before I started my business!

I got into translating German documents only after people had me pursue their German ancestry. “Hey, as long as your up there in the Family HIstory LIbrary, do you think you could find my Johann Schmidt? All I know is that he was born in Prussia somewhere in 1865. Oh, here’s his Taufschein.”

It is not only interesting; it is fascinating & addicting to crack cases, i.e. finding data, documents & images my clients could not find for DECADES!

It is much like dribbling & passing the ball, scoring goals & doing slam dunks or winning in a sports event. Unfortunately, so many clients think they can pass me the ball & that the slam dunk happens immediately.

We must first get down the field, pass the half-way mark & get to the goal–before we attempt to shoot the ball or kick the field goal. “What? You mean it is not all on that great big computer in Salt Lake City?”
What? You can’t just ask the parish priest to do the research for me? No, they usually cannot read the old handwriting; if they can, they certainly “…have enough to do with the living, rather than chase down dead ones!”
“Here, Karl, do it like this: Run down the left side of the court & shoot it from the 3-point line & we’ll win!” Hey, do you tell your doctor how to perform brain surgery?” Puh-leez.
