Another German city of origin ascertained via USA research! It was far from the client’s proposed Bayern (Bavaria)!

Karl-Michael SALA, German Genealogist since 1979!

JohnK, GREAT NEWS! We’ve a document showing the city in which your immigrant ancestor & his parents were born!  Not in Bayern! Our offer is $1,000. We’ve several documents to be posted on BoxDOTnet

Lynell & I pride ourselves in saving our clients thousands of $ WHILE getting them what they seek!  How many years have you now been trying to get this?

Indeed, your having chased around in Bayern was not the correct methodology for BIERSOLL research.

You see, the contruction of a building does NOT begin with the roof, not the siding, nor even the framing.  It begins with the foundation !  Even then, many clients are unaware of the cracks that we find in their foundations.  We repair the flaws even when they object.  If they object too much, we cease our service contract with them.

This former Minuteman Missile Communications Maintenance Tech & USAFR Intelligence Officer is pleased to have served you. Thank you also for your service to our country & the world.

You may PayPal mfhm1979@hotmail.com or we will accept your personal check made out to Lynell or Karl Sala. Mail to:

Creating your “own” business or genealogy website? Then be sure it is your “own” .com, not .biz, etc.

Karl-Michael Sala Feeback to those we see who are getting websites that are not their own.
I’m a German Genealogist whose website is Search-Engine Optimized (SEO’d ) #1 for the desired keyword “German Genealogist” for about 2 years.  This, because I use my webmaster. VistaPrint, Weebly, et al. might be a good training ground, but it will ultimately not do SEO very well. *I assume his sage counsel is still good, but my webmaster (son-in-law) says to get a real website that has nobody else’s name as a part of it. Make sure it IS a .com

June 2011: TWO (2) Polish ancestry, genealogy & family history cases cracked for 1 client!

Jill Holcomb (client)
Jill hired you as a Family History/Genealogist Research in 2011

Top qualities: Personable, Expert, High Integrity

“Karl-Michael is a highly knowledgeable, skilled researcher. His background and understanding of the research process has led him to find ancestors we didn’t know existed. An earlier professional genealogist from the 70’s missed family members on both our patriarchal and matriarchal lines. Because of the language barrier, the complexity of Poland’s history and the quality of the microfilm, we had been unable to decipher information for the last 30 years. What a thrill to find family members in Poland that no one else could find! I am pleased to pass on the great ‘Find’ that Karl-Michael has been in helping us discover our roots in Poland and Germany.” July 5, 2011

GermanGenealogist.com gets kudo from Hollywood celebrity (Star Trek Voyager) & his brother!

Karl-Michael Sala

1972: Guess who played bass & sang high harmony vocals in a soul music band with Tim Russ, the black Vulcan on Star Trek Voyager?

Guess whom Tim, his siblings, Mike & Angie Russ, asked to research & find their pre-Emancipation ancestor, Itasca “Tasker” Russ? Right–Karl-Michael Sala! Yes, I found the RUSS ancestry in all USA Census records & other USA resources.

Both Tim & Mike wrote me endearing endorsements on Linkedin.com.Tim Russ (client)
Tim hired you as a Genealogist  in 2007

Top qualities:  Great Results, Personable, High Integrity

“I have known Karl since I was in high-school with him. I recently got a very detailed ancestry profile for my parents from him.  I was very happy with his results, and would recommend him in a heartbeat.  Karl also managed to organize and make contacts for our high-school reunion, which was quite tricky because we went to high-school in Izmir Turkey! Contact the GermanGenealogist.com Webmaster: paj@webondb.com

My website has been SEO’d (Search Engine Optimized for about 2 years now.  My biggest clients found ME via the search terms “German Genealogist.”  So, I am very grateful today for the services of Paul Johnson, my webmaster, shown here with Karl-Michael Sala.  Here you can see my left-side facial palsy, a remnant of a 1995 Near-death Experience.  email Paul: paj@webondb.com

With this SEO position, it has enable me to serve, among many clients, a client for whom we have researched, accessed, found & digitized 1,000+ digital images from both Evangelical Lutheran & Catholic parish registers in Baden, Bayern & Württemberg!  We have set many new milestones.

Another Milestone?  And just since June 2011, for 3 other clients, we have cracked 4 Poland Genealogy research cases! Janetzki, Krause, Kindel & Spilizewski!

One of those clients served as a Military Policeman at Rothwesten, at the same time as my father was a radio maintenance technician–abt. 1950-52. They did not know each other, but the man & I, of course, hit it off quite well.  So, here I am, an offspring of another USAF member at the very same USAF base, who pro-created me in Germany, now doing this MP’s East Europe genealogy!  How interesting.

Another client was a former classmate from Walter E. Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio.  He connected with me on Facebook.

On YouTube.com, my 7-8 videos also rule the search terms “German Genealogy” & “GermanGenealogist” & “German Genealogist.”

My next goal is to get SEO’d to #1 for the search term “German Genealogy.”  Lots of competition on that keyword.

Is Poland genealogy research German Genealogy research? Kowel, Poland is probably Kowal, Poland!

  • Bonnie Balogh Rosado This must bring you tons of joy to bless people like this, Mike!   Monday at 4:38am ·

Karl-Michael Sala Blessing thousands of the Living and the Deceased. I am accountable to them all. And, they are all counting on Lynell & me to find ’em in historical images.

“Karl! Help me find my ancestors–before I become one!”

Our client in this case is a commercial pilot who says his Poland immigrant ancestor came from “Kowel”. No such place; therefore, we say Kowal.
1909 NY Passenger listing for the target ancestor says he came from Dabrowka, which is probably Dąbrówka, abt 5 km to the south of Kowal, Poland. I’m buyin’ it. How about you? Yes, I realize it “needs more research.” If you click on the map, it will go to another website, but clicking on the NY Passenger Listing should keep you here.
RE: The spelling of Dabrowka (or any other place, for that matter!): If you’re a customs agent processing hundreds, if not thousands of immigrants, if an immigrant says to you: ” Dąbrówka [dɔmˈbrufka],” would you care whether Dąbrówka is correctly spelled? Not only “no” but “heck, no!” Out of the numerous Dąbrówka places in Europe, would you care which one it was & will you write down the name of the count(r)y or district for Dąbrówka (or any other place, for that matter?) Also, a resounding “no.” So, we’ll forgive them all & press on with our hypothesis that Jan is from the Dąbrówka just a few kilometers south of Kowal. Click on image to view in large format!
SteamShip Zeeland; on 27 February 1909 departed Antwerp, Belgium; traveling without others by the same name, but someone from the same village was a few lines above him. Arrived 9 March 1909 in NY. Note that Jan (pronounced Yawn] was on his way to Cincinnati [area]! Father’s name appears to be Franisek Spilizewski. We are proud to report that all these data, the entire document & image are heretofore unknown, NEW DATA, DOCUMENTS & IMAGES for the client!
Kowal google map
Posted on Facebook:  Just cracked another case for Poland: I found that the target ancestor originated from a little village just south of Kowal (not Kowel), Poland by the name of Dabrowka.  This, for Jan Spilizewski, a client’s matriarchal grandfather! 1909 Feb 27 departed Antwerp on the SS Zeeland; arrived NY 9 Mar 1909! Father looks like Franisek… oh, boy…

Acquired: 3 new clients in 3 days for professional German Genealogy research! Another new milestone set!

When it rains, it pours. Acquired 3 new clients in 3 days. Existing clients have pledged to send more. Dad would ask: “Are you bragging or complaining?” Herein is a photo of my father when he was the exact age I am now: 56!

Yet another new milestone set! One client was stationed 1950-52 in Rothwesten, Germany where my father worked at the 601st AirCraft & Warning squadron. The former USAF security policeman, now in Florida, found me using the keyword “German Genealogist.” For him, I already have a 38-page report in draft, replete with historical ancestral images he has never seen. Highlight: THE place of origin given on a Hamburg Passenger List!

The 2nd one is a physical health trainer in the NY area. He found me on XING about a year ago, but is just now getting serious because he is planning a trip to Hannover, Germany. Not soon enough, my friend. You should have hired me last year in preparation for an August trip to Germany.

The 3rd new client is a fellow classmate from my 1st high school: Stebbins in Dayton, Ohio. He connected with me on FaceBook, where Susanne Peterson Haring likes this.

How do you hold a professional German Genealogist moonbeam in your hand? You don’t.

Puget Sound Genealogical Society (closed) Group Facebook Post by Karl-Michael Sala

‎@ Rosemarie! Because of the oddities of “German(ic)” geography & history, each case is indeed its own. Historical “Germany” extends into numerous modern-day European countries, from Alsace & Belgium to Austria & Bessarabia..

For some limited complimentary counsel, you may email us your dilemma. That’s how Lynell & I have taught numerous German Genealogy “classes” that we call “workshops.” This means we are weary of people just talking & squawking about German Genealogy. While it may be just a hobby for some, for us, ’tis a passion & profession that nobody can deny or deny from us.

As a near-death experience (NDE) survivor, I say that time is short. It is time instead to get busy & crack, solve & build the case!

29 June 2011: We cracked two more cases that our client, Jill Holcomb, & another pro’ German Genealogist had been working on for THIRTY YEARS! We solved it in 2 hours! Tscheschen-Glashütte, Schlesien, Preussen. One Polish; the other German (yes, they did marry{;>).

The client cried with joy now 3 times: 1) When I analyzed her case & ordered the RIGHT microfilms; 2) When I found both target ancestors on those microfilms & posted the stunning images in her online tree (no, the years of birth she had were not correct); & 3) today as we discussed our having found yet other ancestral family members on both lines whom she & the other genealogist had missed. (Not blasting; just commenting).

Today, a grateful new client posted our 63rd endearing endorsement since 2008 on Linkedin.com for professional German Genealogy Research!

Since 1979, I’ve done much volunteer work in Family History Centers in CA, CO, Germany, NV, UT, just as I now do at the Mesa, Arizona Regional Family History Center. I love what I do for patrons & clients. Please don’t try to pop my bubble & those who need what I can do for them.

To please the administrator & a few others, I’ll conform & omit my URL. But, truly, how do you hold a moonbeam ray of German Genealogy research hope in your hand? You don’t & you don’t prevent others from doing so. You cheerlead for them{;>) & publish it on the mountain & the rooftops!

Professional German Genealogy Research Publishing?

Karl posted on a Linkedin Genealogy Group post about publishing:

Karl-Michael SALA, German Genealogist since 1979! • Historically, speaking as the researcher for many family history books that are already published,

both the author AND the publisher were overly anxious & zealous to “…just get the thing published.”

This, prior to the appropriate quantity & quality of research that SHOULD have been done prior to the ultimate publication.

Yes, we are talking minor & major errors of omission & commission. Heaps of mistakes & miscellany.

There. I feel a whole lot better now. Cheap therapy.

I hope this encourages you to NOT quickly publish, unless, of course, it is online with the Wiki-oriented intent to have others contribute, comment, append, edit, follow-up, research, send you funding, etc.

And when that funding ($1,000 – $100,000) is secured, you know whom to contact:

World War 1: 8.3 MILLION German Soldiers’ List

World War 1: 8.3 MILLION German Soldiers’ List! I wonder if my great-grandfather is on it? I’m outta here to find the handle-bar Kaiser Wilhelm mustachioed guy who is wearing a vest & a hat, on the lower far right, the leader of the street construction crew,. You know–the cobblestone! I have his WW1 Military ID even. Karl Friedrich Viehmann is the name, but was known as “Fritz,” just as was my grandfather, his son.

Oh, heck, Ancestry.com! You led me on. Can’t you state that it is only pertaining to Bayern? Yes, I realize some of the soldiers were not from Bayern, but you could still clarify in your ad!

On this ad, you should have indicated in a shorter fashion: Soldaten aus dem Deutschen Reich: In der Bayerischen Armee dienten nicht nur Bayern, sondern auch zahlreiche Soldaten aus dem gesamten Deutschen Reich, vor allem bei den Piloten der Luftstreitkräfte.
